Our History
1st Valley Credit Union began in 1951, serving the city employees of San Bernardino. Over the years, we added other local employer groups to our field of membership. In 1999 the credit union expanded its field of membership to encompass all persons living or working in the cities of San Bernardino, Colton, Rialto, Highland, Loma Linda, and Grand Terrace. As of 2011 we serve the entire County of San Bernardino.
Today 1st Valley Credit Union has over $45 million in assets and serves over 3,800 members with a full suite of financial products and services at competitive rates and with outstanding customer service. We now are proud to serve the entire County of San Bernardino.
Our Philosophy
1st Valley Credit Union takes its role as a true community credit union to mean much more than just serving its members. In keeping with its “Community Minded” philosophy 1st Valley Credit Union strives to promote greater public awareness of and involvement with local organizations with three main principles.
1) By encouraging its members, staff and board to volunteer and take part in the programs and events that make our community a great place to live.
2) By promoting recognition of outstanding community volunteers by sponsoring an annual Community Minded Service Award.
3) By working with local organizations to promote financial literacy especially among youth.
